  The 2000 Audi S4

These pictures show what a sleeper the Audi s4 is.  The car's sleek lines and timeless shape give it a very refined look, but at the same time it is not a car you would think is a formidable performance sedan unless you are aware of what the B5 S4 is. This is the reason I purchased the car originally. I loved that no one, especially the police, knew just what a potent car it is.

You really cannot tell that the car is capable of trapping 120+mph in a 1/4 mile, or that it would pull away from a new E92 V8 M3. However when you are not pressing the car, it drives just like it did at stock power levels.

The 2000 series of audi S4's do not have traction control, and this is why I sought after specifically the 2000 year.  The newer S4's are all equipped with traction control,  and although it can be switched off- it never is truly kept off!  The ESP can reengage under certain circumstances.  A true sports car does not need ESP, especially a mechanical all wheel drive one!  The all wheel drive allows the car to be very manageable in all circumstances, and I have never had a moment where I wished it had ESP...it is even fine in driving rain, and snow etc.

The quattro all wheel drive is an awesome platform to put down power.  Similar HP level cars will have trouble making traction like the B5 S4 does.

Before I owned this B5 S4 I actually owned a new B6 2005 S4! And sold it to buy the older series, B5 s4! Be careful of the B6/7 S4's..(2004+)  Although they are beautifully made cars, they are in no ways as a visceral driving experience as this car.  The power level of the B6 S4 is what made me sell it, as the engine was utterly boring!  Even the new RS4 cannot keep up at all with this car here.  The B5 S4 stg III is making as much power to the wheels as the new RS4 (claims) it makes at the engine.

If you prefer luxury only, the B6/7 S4's are viable options.  Although, there is a supercharger is being released soon for these cars, I doubt the added power will overcome the already overweight platform.  (the B6/7 4 is already a few hundred pounds heavier than the B5)

This car has been imaccutely maintained, as you can probably see, I love it!
