I've decided to sell my S4.  I originally planned on keeping my s4 for many more years, but I have found myself lusting after a few other cars.   Regardless, I still enjoy driving the S4, and have just come back from a nice trip up Angeles Crest highway.  The car handles amazingly well for what it is, and the grip is almost unparalleled in the configuration she is in now.  The power this car makes at low rpm's is just astounding. The amount of torq it creates down low is really unmatched in any other smaller displacement engine I have driven.  I think this wave of torq would be primarily attributed to the APB's (S4 engine code) superior volumetric efficiency, and of course, the small, quick spooling KO4 turbos.  

My friend has asked me if I will miss the car, and I must admit I think I will. The car in many ways has found a very special spot in my heart.  Although not the sportiest looking, the car has a very solid and reserved manner about it.  The car's looks do not assume to be greater than she is, and yet she is able to completely outrun and dominate cars that have very aggressive looking body designs.  The new lexus IS F is a perfect example. The car's bulbous hood and snarled looking front area scream that the car has power, yet in numerous engagements on a track with my friend who owns one, the audi pulled effortlessly away.  He was surprised by this occurrence.  

If I had enough $  to maintain a collection I would love to keep the s4.  The 2000 S4 is an oddball sort of car, and I think it will always have a place in the heart of enthusiasts for years to come.  

My decision to sell the S4 largely comes from my obsession with cars. In the last 10 years alone, I have already owned and consecutively sold 7 different cars.  With that in mind, I have kept this S4 longer than the average length I have owned any prior cars, as I have had it now for two years.   

This is somewhat costly to me, as I am not always able to recoup what was paid, and many of the newer cars I have owned have depreciated vastly.  Interestingly, some of the classic cars I have owned generally held their value or increased slightly.  However the upkeep on the 1970 300 SEL 6.3 that I had was insane, and caused me to become very cautious of older high performance cars.
